The Neverending Story
Chapter I

By Wicked
Moon |
Alone in a sea that the people of the Manmarch call Endless, lies the mystical
Island of Tranquil Dreams. Gorobei turns to you and bows and you return
the courtesy. The Grandmaster of the Dawn reminds you that this is not
a fight to the death. Gorobei advances warily across the polished granite
floor, his big hands ready to grapple you. What will you do.. ? |
By Tara
Miller |
You bow slightly to the Grandmaster, keeping
your eyes focused toward the bulky body of Gorobei. Before your very eyes
this putrid hulking beast begins to transform. The form goes slender and
becomes much more feminine. "At last!" you cry. " You aretaking you oringinal
form, That of a feindishly deceptive woman." |
By Becky

Arising from your half bow and still in aw
from your discovery, you take stand and prepare to defend yourself. With
half opened eyes glaring at you through a blackened dreamstate, you begin
to wonder, is this the way? |
By angelleah |
In the silenced darkness, the only sound heard
is the rapid beating of your heart. It feels as if at any moment it would
leap from your chest!!! |
By Tara
Miller |
The rustling of cloth is heard as Grandmaster
gives the signal to begin. His hand reaches mid way and both weapons are
drawn and poised. "Fight !!"he shouts, and quickly backs from the ring
in the very center of the Island. As you move in unison the beating of
your heart grows louder still and as you absorb the full force of your
opponents blow your mind hears the beat change to those of drums. Your
mind transports you back to that lonely day 3 years ago when you began
this quest at the insistence of your master, Griffon the Bold, master of
magic weaponry. |
By Wicked
Moon |
Your daydreaming leads to instant defeat.
Gorobei lands a hefty blow that shatters your skull. Your life has been
dedicated to the Sacred Arts of Ninjutsu, but it has all been for nothing.
You are vaguely aware of your left side becoming paralysed as splinters
of bone sink into your brain. You look up dazed, like a gibbering cabbage,
to see the twisted smile spread across Gorobei's fat cheeks. You remember
the words of your master, your teacher, "If death beckons, Grasshopper,
then call Kwon's name.." You thought this ancient God a myth, but as your
heart beats its last you manage to call His name. Instantly you are ravished
by a celestial presence that restores you Phoenix like to full strength. |

Gorobei backs away, astonished at the sight
of your return. Nevertheless, he reaches out to grab you. Marked by speed,
his lunge came to no evail. You leap over the massive bulk and land behind
him returning his original blow with ten fold. Gorobei hobbles forward
uncapable of processing his defeat. The island quakes as the bohemith
lands on the granite, his eyes shut to the world. "The battle has not
been won.", you think. |
By Mary

Standing in the gloom of the dying day, you
hear a voice from within the depths of your own head. The voice repeats
two words; "The pendant. The pendant. The pendant." You turn and look
around, but there is no one save the beast and you, and he seems to be
taking on a luminescent appearance. "The pendant. The pendant." The voice
that is not your own chants in your head. Slowly you approach Gorobei,
(or what is left of him, as he seems to be diminishing before your eyes,)
and push him onto his back with your foot. His shrinking body rolls easily,
now weighing almost nothing. There you see, on a leather thong encircling
his neck, a pendant. You lean in closer to read the insignia there... |
By David

The pink and grey marble of the pendant draws
you in forcing you to look closer and see the finely engraved skull bathed
in fire. The sign of Durroth the Everlasting god of Death and Plague.
"So," you think to yourself "Gorobei was a desciple of death." "Desciple??"
you hear in a voice that seems to come from all around you and you wonder
if you had spoken aloud. You look down to find Gorobei's broken body has
vanished completly and you find that you are no longer holding the pendant.
A feeling between your shoulders tells you that you should look behind
you but you probably wont like what you see. You ready yourself and turn
around quickly swinging your sword around in an attemp to hit anything
that might be behind you. Your sword swings through the air catching nothing
but air. You are alone. The quiet adds to your feelings of doom. You breath
deeply and begin to scan the room. |

Suddenly you are struck by a blinding flash
of light. A flash soooo peircing that it shocks you into the realization
that you are sitting, alone at your computer, and it's getting late. But
can that deter the true net addict? No, of course not. (hey where's those
free email names that lured me into this friggen dungon in the first place?)
Back to the story..."Trapped somewhere in the collective unconscious you
search desperatly for THE EXIT, some way to end the never ending story
of your life, or is it the story of your death? Can we escape in time
or is time just another twisted web leading back to the beginning? The
answers are to be found on the dark side of the moon. But trust me, you
don't want to know, you don't want to know. |
By KBECKKA |
The light was that of a tunnel. It leads to
a fork in the path..one way up one way down the bright light heads up
you are scared and want to exit. A stairway flickers gold and colorsMOON
the stairway melts and your back to reality |
By THE
METAL BARON |
So your curiosity gets the best of you , and
you search . For life you left behind , but is it really behind you ,
or is that your shadow of doom ? Hence the search continues to make sense
of the senselessness in dreams that arise when you close your eyes though
they appear to be open . Thus the struggle within continues in this black
empty void , just who or what can free me now ? |

And suddenly - a white, yet soft and caressing
light spread like a soft blanket across the sky and down the mountain
side into the valley. With the light came a "knowing" - a knowing that
the worst of the night was over - but that the darkness had been a necessary
test of the worthiness and mettle of the one who must now go forward.
The damp, blackness and the the sharp foot cutting gravel underfoot was
gone - taking with it for an eternal companion - the bitter cold and the
stabbing wind. The white light was warm - reaching into the mind and the
bones - and energising the pace of the legs that would now move slowly
yet surely onwards.............. |

You stumble around the room, your eyes frantically
searching for anything that might harm you, but you see nothing. Suddenly,
you feel an icy grip upon your left shoulder and are frozen with fear.
Through the silence, you hear Gorobei's voice call out your name, but
how can that be? He just melted away before you, not even a minute ago.
You'd watched him disappear. "I want to thank you. You have given me something
that I have been searching for for many years. I have waited so long for
someone to strike me dead so that I could take my true place among the
evil spirits. Now, you have given me that..." You feel the icy hand release
your shoulder, but you know that he is not gone. All the light seems to
be draining from the room and the air is getting thinner as you stand
there. |
By NAKEY |
shivering and cowering in the corner you look
deep within drawing on the little bit of lifes essence left inside of
you and begin saying ieborog, ieborog, ieborog, ieborog, ieborog, and
each time you say it your strength becomes more prominant speaking louder
and faster ieborog, ieborog, ieborog, ieborog, ieborog, begins to reverse
the curse causing Gorobei to begin to wither and melt again. summoning
up what bit of courage you have left and yelling at the top of your lungs
IEBOROG!!!IEBOROG!!!IEBOROG!!! he dissappears and a light begins to shine
overhead... |
By anita |
The light seems to be taking on a life of
it's own. Gorobei isn't gone, just transformed into a light so bright
it's impossibe for you to look at it. In his evil voice you hear "I see
you cowering in that corner, there is no escape now. Ieborog triples my
powers". You begin to cry "Help, Help, Help me" Gorobei is lauhging a
bone chilling laugh as he turns up the heat in an attempt to melt you. |
By CeCe |
You stand with sword in hand, eyes closed,
waiting. Waiting. There is no fear, only silence. The cold is leaving
and being replaced with warmth that is coming from the light. With eyes
still closed you feel as though you are getting taller, or the gloom is
getting smaller. Arms begin to rise, up towards the light, the body becoming
ever stronger. Fresh air, a breeze, eyes open to a beautiful field at
the base of a huge mountain. You are alone but not unaware. The direction
is clear, and so you begin. |

Beautiful patches of cobalt blue, rich green
and gold emerge - adorning the mountain side - brought to life by the
light - as though their purpose was to be a gift for your eyes. You feet
are still but your mind, nudged gently by the warm light and it's new
companion - a dancing, floral fragranced breeze, begins a journey of it's
own. Looking downwards, you see that the patches of cobalt blue stretch
themselves out like a luxuriously lazy cat in the field below. Suddenly,
but not alarmingly, a voice, like a welcome visitor to your ears, breaks
the silence. It is warm, gentle and although not singing, is somehow musical.
"There are four questions you must ask before I can reveal your task.
Lay on my carpet - perfect blue - please sleep - I will watch over you."
A delicious cozy tiredness washes over you like tropical rain. You are
drawn - downwards towards the soft yet brilliant blue flower like shapes
in the field below. Slowly you approach their millon tiny gold centred
cobalt petalled faces as they perform their duty as your welcoming party......... |
By Fairyraindancer |
The next thing you know you are flying among
the clouds and see a small shrine like structure below. You are compelled
to land and go through massive door in front of you.As you walk to the
door to push it open you awaken with a start. The cat is standing over
you with a knowing smile. You sit up to ask him what is going on and he
begins to vanish.Upon his departure you hear a whisper on the breeze...The
shrine is where you'll find her....Chandra is the key.You look up From
the base of the mountain and you somehow know you must begin your climb
to the clouds above,But just who is Chandra and how is she the key?And
what questions must you anwser perhaps Chandra will know. |
By Fairyraindancer |
You begin your way up the mountain when you
come across a water sprite who seems to be in great turmoil. You ask her
what you can do to help but her anwser puzzles you all she says is tell
me your heart is it true? You think a moment and tell her that your heart
is true to the mysteries within it.Then she vanishes.Upon her departure
you find what appears to be a small crystal heart. You collect the heart
and place it in your bag in hopes of returning it should you see her again. |
By Tara
Miller |
Mystery surrounds you. New twists and turns
on the path that you began when your master sent you out. You gaze out
over the valley and empty your small bag of treasures on to the grassy
hilltop. You arrange them in a row from first found to last. The first
is a beautifully handcrafted pipe you found in the mountains around your
own village. Second a turtle shell, then comes the amber stone with an
unrecognisable black spot and finally the small crystal faerie heart. You
ponder on the meaning and pray to the God helper Kwon for the strenghth
and wisdom to understand. Looking across the valley you are startled to
see lightning out of a clearsky. At the end of the flash there appears
a figure of a magician and his dragon steed. |
By Angelleah |
He radiates with a blinding brightness, you
shield your eyes to get a glimpse of his majesty. Often in times you thought
magicians to be so ghastly and frightening, but his eyes are a gentle
deep steel blue and his voice is warm and gentle. You stare as if the
whole world stands at a complete stillness. Out of his mouth, he speaks
words of such great wisdom, that you do not understand their meaning!!!
You feel so unworthy and hang your head down in shame knowing his words
to help instruct you on your way are far beyond your understanding. |
By angelleah |
So overwhelmed a single crystal tear begins
to fall. It travels down to your cheek. The magician approaches you. Placing
his hand to your face he captures the shed tear. He smiles and says " |

"Chosen for a task so bold - regardless of
how young or old. This pearl you must protect and keep to sheild you when
you need to sleep." He stops speaking for a moment and takes your left
hand and holds it within both of his. He places a shimmering saphire blue
and gold cloth around yours and his hands and looks skywards. After a
few seconds a soft but growing light begins to shine through the beautiful
fabric and a tingling warmth begins to travel from your fingertips, up
your left arm, across your chest......... and continues until it has covered
your entirity. You look down to the floor and all around you and notice
an silver pink aura surrounds you like a misty outline of your whole body.
The magician relases your hand and throws the cloth upwards. as he does
this the cloth seems to evaporate - to be replaced with a hundred tiny
sparkling gold and saphire blue stars. The stars dance for a while above
your head, then take on the shape of a dove and fly up, up and up ......until
they are too small to see. You look down again and the aura has gone.
In your hand you find a beautiful, perfectly formed pale pink pearl. It
feels strange - because although you have not seen it before it feels
so very very familiar and you feel a strong attachement to it. This feeling
increases and you pledge to yourself to never, ever let it go. You start
to thank the magician for his gift to you. You look up and immediately
notice that he is fading away in front of your eyes. He has already taken
on a breathtakingly beautiful translucent form and says gently to you
"Whats in your hand was always yours, and crafted from your tears. Protect
it well from deep within and show it all your fears." With that he was
gone. Suddenly you find yourself in a forest on the side of a dark mountain.
Your hear a rustling sound in the leaves above and are afraid. The warm
breeze that touches first, the back of your neck, somehow reassures you
but you are not sure why. Then you hear the musical silk voice you had
first heard before your long sleep in the cobalt flowers. "When evil lives
in shadows long, the light will need to remain strong. Your questions
now are being born. Your loyalty must not be torn. The dark is there to
make us blind - but light can leave this all behind. A purlpe path should
be choice until again you hear my voice........ |
By Trish
Merrill |
With that he departed and left you to stumble
your way down the dark side of the mountain. You find a stream and follow
it to a hollow that is full of life. Everything is much brighter now.
There is so much to learn and so much to teach. Can you do what you feel
you must do in this lifetime or will it take hundreds of lifetimes? If
so will you carry the knowledge from one life onto the next? You are exillerated.
You have found something more precious than you had ever imagined and
begin to wonder if you will ever be able to convey the feelings and thoughts
you have. Life is wonderful. You come to a small town at the end of the
stream and it opens to a large and endless ocean. You obtain a ship and
begin to sail to another place, another time... |
By BECCA
ROOFTOP |
Dawn breaks over a lilac silver sea. The now
familiar soft warm breeze strokes the back of you neck. The silver of
the sea begins to fade to azure blue - but the lilac remains in a soft
bordered path before you. Is that what he meant by "purple path" you wonder?
You walk to the bow of the ship - checking to see if your pearl is still
in the little brown leather pouch inside your damask shirt. Gazing out
into the distance - trying to follow the purple path to it's end - (and
not succeeding - as it seems to go on - out across the ocean forever)
you are suddenly brought to your senses by a splash of a thousand tiny
water droplets - emanating from the head of a dolphin leaping with joy
at the side of the ship. Full of joy with an expression of love and optimism
she performs for your pleasure. "Hello friend" you say - reaching over
to touch her dorsal fin as she leaps up to give you your morning ablutions!
There is something so magical and yet somehow familiar about her. Just
before she finishes her play and leaves she dives deep into the ocean
and returns with a beautiful coral pink conch just behind her blow hole.
she slides it expertly onto her smiling bottle nosed face and throws it
to you. It lands on the deck - right at your feet..... and she is gone.
You feel saddened by her departure..... but something deep inside you
tells you with an inexplicable certainty that you will see her again.
You hold the conch in your hands and notice how it's paler bands of pink
are almost exactly the same as your precious pearl. You hold it to your
ear and inwardly laugh at yourself - remembering how your great grandfather
convinced you that you could hear the sea if you held any shell from the
ocean close enough to your ear. Of course I'll hear the sea - you humourously
scold yourself - you are sailing - on board a ship! In spite of yourself
- you do it anyway. Sitting on the deck - beneath the main mast - you
weep. The sounds you heard from the conch were not of the ocean. They
were sounds of pain, sadness and fear. Children crying, warriors shouting
something unintelligible - women screaming and what sounds like a number
of different animals in distress. You also think you heard and smelled
fire. You are sad, afraid and confused. You feel this is a message - that
there is something you must do - but you don't know what. You call out
to the familiar warm breeze - praying for it's musical voice for guidance.........help.....
anything...... There seems to be no reply. Navy blue grey clouds begin
to circle above you. A chill steals the warm air the dawn had transported
with it - what seemed like only moments ago. You take out your pearl and
stare at it - willing it to give you a clue as to what to do next. Your
fingers begin to tingle.....as they had when the magician had first given
you your precious pearl. Soon the pink warm aura is again surrounding
your whole body. You feel so very very tired and fall into a deep sleep
- with your pearl held tightly in the palm of your left hand.... |
By fairyraindancer |
When you awake the ship has pulled into port
but your not certain of where you are.You walk down the plank to shore
only to find your self staring at a hill top and what appears to be a
shrine of sorts....THE SHRINE IN YOUR DREAM...You quickly make your way
to the old ruin and are standing at the door you close your eyes take
a deep breath and slowly open the door. Before your eyes sits a beautiful
fairy adorned in a pink and blue almost purple wardrobe. She asks you how
your journey was and bids you to sit.You are taken aback by the light
which radiates from within her and you mutter you must be Chandra. You
don't know how you know you just know, she seems so familiar to but you
cannot place where you have seen her before. She smiles a knowing smile
and your jaw drops in amazement...Your the cat..Yes she tells you I have
many forms but now you see me as I really am...She asks you to present
her with the pearl and the faeire heart and you place them on the altar
befor you all of a sudden the tear and the heart begin to glow and the
radiance of the light blinds you so that you can hardly see..You are a
little scared but somehow you feel a complete sense of safety. When the
light dies you see a pendant before you.it is that of a crystal blue heart
with a pearl safely tucked within it.Chandra tells you to keep it on at
all times and that it will guide you to that you seek. You head on your
way out the door and as you turn around to say good bye the shrine disappears
and you hear a faint whisper on the breeze....call me and I will be there.... |

Outside....and very alone, you place your
left hand on your breastbone, feeling the pendant and stroking it's perfect
form. It's contours are peculiarly as familiar as the feel of your own
brow, the shape of your jaw, the aching muscles you have often absent
mindedly rubbed after a long and strenuous day. Taking stock of where
you are now and what you should do next... you notice a small stocky,
human like form approaching you. It is about one metre tall and has a
blue face - the kind of blue that can only be created by the moon on a
dark blue midnight sea in deepest winter. It's head seems to be disproportionately
large for it's body - and although it has a faint smile like expression
it seems to look somehow burdened. It walks on a level path towards you
but it's step is more akin to that which might be taken when climbing
a hill. I'ts damp ragged clothes are sage green and charcoal grey and
are similar to a one piece boiler suit. As it get nearer to you you notice
that the neck, the ankles and the cuffs are tied tightly with something
that looks like barbed wire. On each of it's shoulders it carries stone
looking tiny ornaments - one a cave and the other a group of trees in
winter dress and devoid of any leaves or vegetation. You open your mouth
to speak - nervous of it's intention - not knowing whether it is friend,
foe or fantasy. Suddenly you are aware that no sound is emerging from
your quavering lips. You are rooted to the spot and feel as though your
feet have become one with the cracked baked earth they stand on. You try
again to speak but no audible sound will favour your efforts. It is now
right in front of you, looking into your eyes with expectation and a kind
of sad pleading. When it opens it's mouth you realise that instead of
it's lips being from "East to West" a perpendicular "North to South" apperture
begins to gape. It sighs and you smell it's breath - like burned ashes
from a forest fire - exactly the same as the smell in the conch given
to you by the joyous dolphin. You can do nothing else but stare- apprehensively,
fearfully and with uncertainty at your new companion. When he begins to
speak he says " I am not death - my friend - I'm worse. I carry with me
every curse. I spoke of light - they made grey and took my clean sweet
breath away. I healed my body in the sun - they've hidden it from everyone.
I hid my people in a cave - now each one is the dark one's slave. A million
dreams and things I said - they forced them back into my head. My face
they said, should always be, the ocean I will never see. The forest fires
they sent to burn have murdered every plant and fern. My feet are doomed
to walk uphill - for showing them my own free will. This mouth you see
is turned around - for saying we were freedom bound. My people scream
through day and night in search pearls of of love and light..... |
By Fairyraindancer |
You are so saddened by his story that despite
his appearance you take his hand and draw him closer. As you take him in
your arms to comfort him your pendant begins to glow and the being jumps
back quite startled..All at once a great light wells up from your very
being and focuses on your pendant.A glowing ray of warm blue light shoots
through the being and he begins to transform..When the light finally disperses
you see before you a radiant being bathed in the color of the sun.He drops
to his knees and kisses you feet all the while spilling with tears and
grattiude. You look at him quite confused as he tells you that he is one
of only a few of his people left the alumbre of fire .He tells you his
name Nitron and that he is now your travel companion to battle the evil
Goreobi the destroyer of his people. You are stunned trying to take in
what has just happned when you notice the marks on youe hands...On the
left that of a pink pearl..on the right a blue fairy heart. |

Nitron sits on the dusty earth before you.
His large head looks slightly smaller and is now a loveley golden peach
colour. His chest and shoulders seem somehow slightly bigger and this,
you think to yourself adds to his now (marginally) more proportionate
appearance. His mouth has changed too and now - instead of running from
"North to South" is definitely set "North East to South West" allowing
his stubby upturned nose to begin the journey back to the central line
of his very round face. Nitron laughs, gasps and reaches down to his anlkes.
He points his toes away from him - then towards him again. He repeats
this a few times and laughs again - his laughter reminds you of the enchantingly
resonant bamboo windchimes your great grandmother used to have outside
the little back door of her cottage when you were very small. "Unlocked.....unlocked"
Nitron shouts with glee in his eyes. As you look down you realise what
he is talking about. His ankles, had been cursed and locked into the "walking
uphill" position - and since you held him close to you - and the pendant
- in friendship and comforting - the curse has gone. Also lying on the
ground are a hundred tiny pieces of black spikey metal. Where they came
from is confirmed to you when Nitron stands up - and the legs and cuffs
of his one piece clothing fall loosely - with his sleeves reaching the
ground. In the transformation brought about by his recent physical proximity
to you - the barb wire bands - binding him tortuously into his clothing
have been shattered. The ornaments on his shoulders remain unchanged.
You smile at him - and feel so very priveleged to be here witnessing and
being part of his relief and joy. You are tying braided reeds firmly -
yet comfortably around his knees and elbows to prevent his loose clothing
from tripping him up when he walks - when you hear a distant rumbling
sound. The sky turns to a menacing dark grey and mauve. You instinctively
grab Nitron round his waist and hold him close to you. The cracked earth
you are standing on begins to move beneath your feet. The crack gets wider
- purple dust fills your eyes and mouth - and suddenly you are falling..........falling............
down and down.....The last thing you see before you fall into a deep sleep
- with Nitron close by your side is a narrow purple path reaching out
and seeming to end at twelve silver majestic looking trees in the distace.
You think you see a gold and blue dove at the top of the tallest tree
- but sleep takes possession of you and your heavy eyelids surrender......... |

You awake underneath a moonlit sky. The silver
trees stand in front of you. You notice that Nitron is nowhere in sight.
You call out his name... no answer. You decide to go forward towards the
trees. You aproach the silver glade and are immediately surrounded by
about one hundred elves all with deadly bows trained on you. Their leader
steps forward introducing himself as Arganus Goblinblighter Protector
of the Silver Wood and all of her inhabitants. After determining that
you pose no threat you are led deep into the silver trees to the elves
village in the center. You are shown to a room where you find Nitron eating
hungrily from a platter of greens and you realize you are also famished.
You sit and find a setting already on the table for you. You eat quickly
getting up to look around your room. Shortly after you finish your meal
a young elven boy enters biding you to follow him to an audience with
the elven king... |

A soft and fragrant lavender path leads you
and the elf boy to a latticed gate. The gate is adorned across it's arched
top and down it's sides with snowflakes - each one standing perfectly
still and fixed only by one of it's points. The snow flakes are so large
that you can see - with your human eye - all the icredible beauty of their
intricate and unique patterns. You are fascinated by their beauty and
stare amazed at them. The elf like boy - who has tild you he is called
Laiceps gently breaks into wonderment and tells you you must move on -
as the Great Wise One is waiting. Holding both his hands in a cupped fashion
- towards the centre of the lattice gate, you see seven orchid like flowers
turn - as though dancing in a circular formation - in an anti clockwise
direction. Like the wheel on a ship they turn - then stop. Cupping his
hands again towrds them they turn a half circle in the opposite direction.
You hear a flutter of birds wings and feel that familiar soft breeze around
your head - and the gate slowly but smoothly opens out onto a silver white
and dramatically glistening courtyard. As you enter the courtyard, tiny
cobalt blue and lilac feathers begin to appear through cracks in the stony
floor. They continue to emerge - like new irrigation on barren land -
and in just a few minutes a narrow, yet perfect - soft yet glossy path
has been formed - which reaches all the way up to a huge and regal looking
purple, tulip shaped seat. A pink glow begins to emerge and radiate upwards
from the back of the further most petal formed sections of the throne
like object you are now only inches away from. You feel nervous - and
unsure of how one is supposed to greet and have audience with what must
surely be such a splendourous king. Suddenly - on your left shoulder,
a sapphire blue and gold dove appears - and whispers in your left ear.
"Turn, and look from whence you came, then turn again and do the same.
For looking back helps one to see, the next place he will need to be."
You do, without thought of question, as you are bid. Looking backwards
towards the gate you see, in pictures framed in cloud like mist - the
whole of your journey, it's events, it's pain, it's fear, it's joy and
beauty - and you feel overwhelmed with emotion and purpose. As you turn
half circle for the last time, when the images of your journey so far
have begun to fade - he is there, on his perfectly formed purple petalled
pedestal. He is old, but somehow also ageless. His silk robes are one
colour - and every colour. His emarald eyes contain oceans of widom and
mountains of pain. His brow is one that has been severely beaten, his
jaw and his now outstretched hands silently shout the words "love" and
"courage". "You heard my kingdom scream and cry - and saw the dark one
in the sky and still you came through every test - I know now that I chose
the best." ............ |

You stop, should you go in or shouldn't you? After a moment of serious thought you decide that you will go in. maybe the person who lives there knows the way.

6 paths of fate to choose the right one is seems like simplicity but it's looks can be decieving. You look at each path carefully. will choosing beauty over simplicity be the best road. carefully you concider the path t your fate. " you choose the "dark Tunnel it draws you into it's path! " not yet you scream as the blackess pulls you into its vortex. you try desperatly digging your fingernails into the ground as the force begins to grow stronger. clutching the nearest tree to brace yourself ,your arms growing weak. you feel your fingers slipping.
" no! i change my mind! i want another path!"
You scream. but it is usless you are sucked into it's dark vortex , which takes your breath away leaving you helpless, you feel as if the whole world is spinning. The spiraling cause you to fall into a trance.
It seems as if eternity is reachable through this portal! you awaken to a new and different world never seen before. Your eyes start to focus on this strange and beautifull world. The sky looks as if a famous artist splashed a hue of many colors upon it. Colors of blue, purple, pink, and violet are so vivid.
The Sun it's BLUE! or is it the sun? You ask yourself and mountians of wildflowers adorn the hillside, leaving a sent of perfume so intoxicating it takes your breath away. Trees are very different here. Their leaves are pure gold with tiny (crystal blue ) flowers all over them. Strange striking birds with rainbow colored tails and they sing as if they are snging a lullaby |

You look around for some kind of signal or sign as to which way you should be going but are at a loss of what is happening to you.You walk over to one of those strange colored birds and strangely enough in isn't scared of you but sits there starring at you.As you look into its eyes you think you hear a voice but you are not sure as to what its saying. You turn away and shake your head and decide to try and look for some food. You hear the sound of running water not far and decide to go for a drink of water. As you make your way to the source of the sound you hear yoou turn the next corner and there you see her sitting on a rock by an unusually clear river. You have seen this being befor but cannot quite remember off hand. She bids you to come closer and as you approach she grabs you and the two of you tumble into the water. You begin a panicked struggle to keep your head above water to no avail. The being pulls you down and you begin to descend.Just as you think your breath is about to fail you the two of you break the surface of the water and the lovely being rests you on a shore of some sort.As you slowly close your eyes you hear a voice calling to you...Do not worry all is well... |

Annalina of the Dawn. Follow me brave soul and you will find the answers you need. You open your eyes and see the most beautiful woman you have ever looked upon. She sits again on her rock in womanly perfection. "Come." she bids to you as she stands gracefully and begins to walk down a forest path to the east. You follow close behind until you come to a clearing with a single huge oak tree in the center. She walks to the tree and knocks thrice upon the trunk opening a door. She walks in and after a moments thought you enter. |
By Fairyraindancer |
You walk through the door and to your
amazement find your self in and underground city of sorts.Near the opening
of the door there are guards who appear to be gaurding the door as if
wating for an attack.there are small little houses built into the walls
with each one having small moss and mushroom gardens in the windows. As
you follow the beautiful being farther you smell the scent of bread(now
theres somthing that you never thought to smell again)Small children are
playing in the earthen streets and there are animals and small little
crops and shrubs popping out of almost nowhere.Your eyes are trying to
take in all that you are seeing as the being uh Annalina was it?Offers
you some bread and you greatly accept. You ask her how this little town
came to be as and the two of you sit down under and enormous mushroom
like tree Annalina begins.... |
By Sharameah |
Head bowed, tearlets sparkling in her soft
catlike eyes... In a voice echoing with silver bells, Annalina softly
began to speak.. The story of this place is long, ancient, and honorable.
It is a story stretching back through the aeons to a time and place when
all beings, all creatures lived in peace and in harmony. A time of sunlight,
silver seas, golden deserts, velvet meadows, when the wind was sweet on
our lips and hearts were filled with hope and joy. A time when each dawning
brought with the rosy glow of day, an opportunity to renewed our spirits
and souls by pledging ourselves anew to protect, to preserve our faith
and our trust in the ancient beliefs of our people, Beliefs handed down
through generations since before time began, beliefs which were taught
to us by the wise ones, those special chosen few in each generation whose
hearts were so pure, so filled with life and love, they were able to hear
the whispers of our worthy ancients who had gone before us. Our story
stretches back to a time when against all odds, She who was most beautiful,
most wise, most pure in heart and soul was unknowingly led astray and
fell into the eternal darkness taking our people with her. For centuries
we have waited.. waited for the 'one' For only they will restore our birthright,
free us from the darkness, release our souls and the soul of our most
beloved... |
By David

It was sent down from the ancients that one
day a man pure of heart would come and defeat the darkness which holds
us underground. Our whole lives have been dedicated to waiting and searching
for the one who would deliver us back into the light." You look around
and see that a large crowd of people has gathered around the two of you.
"Come" Annalina says as she stands and leads you through the throng of
people. As you walk down the narrow coridoors that make up the town the
people continue to follow you. At last she leads you to a large stone
door. "As it was written the one who can enter through this door and return
with his life shall be the chosen one in which all hope will be placed.
No go for this is just the first of many tests. You must return with the
silver sword of Karras before you can continue." With that you find yourself
suddenly alone infront of the large door that is now open. You cautiosly
enter... |

you find your way through a winding maze that
seems to lead nowhere at first and then you find yourself standing on
the edge of a great ravine. You look down and see nothing but an engulfing
darkness and suddenly you are very afraid. You try to shake yourself out
of the fear that is slowly overtaking you whole thought process.Somehow
you know you must continue as you choke back the dry lump in the back
of your throat. You turn to go another way only to find the previous way
barred from passage. You look again into the darknessof the ravine and
you know what you must do.You take one last breath and swallow hard as
you begin to jump.as you start to fall into the darkness your pendant
begins to glow and the next thing you know you are safely on the other
side of the ravine. You are shaken but gradually become aware of you senses
once again and continue on your journey. You come to a massive oak door
standing in front of you.It has an iron knocker and accents. You try to
push the door open to know avail so you decide as crazy as it seems to
knock the door begins to slowly creak open and you are stunned at what
you see before you...... |

You are immediately surrounded by barely clothed
maidens each one more beautiful than the next all of them begging you
to join in their orgy. You swallow hard and try and dry the sweat on your
palms. The words "Pure of Heart" ring in your ears and you begin to walk
through the room searching for the exit. You reach the back of the room
pressing and pulling on anything that might serve to open a secret way
out. You find a small stone protruding from the rest of the wall and you
push it. Nothing happens. You listen closely for any sound of internal
movement in the wall but you hear nothing. Nothing...suddenly it dawns
on you that the room has gone quiet. You slowly turn around... |
By fairyraindancer |
The scantly clad maidens are standing there
as if ready or waiting for somthing. The tall red head walks up to you
and says you must tell us which of us is the most beautiful of all and
you stand there at a loss for words. They are all beautiful and they know
it as they stand there proudly. The red head drops her veil on the floor
and bids her servant to pick it up.You see this servant girl before you
and you wonder why she is smiling. The others are obviously cruel to her
looking down with hateful sneers. She just keeps smiling though.you walk
the room looking over each girl and tell the tall red head you have reached
your decision. As all in the room wait with baited breath you announce
that the servant girl is indeed the most beautiful because of her good
heart and pure soul. The maidens all at once turn on you and you scatter
for a way out as the servant girl bids you to follow her you could swear
you hear the sound of hissing and then you are pulled through a wall only
to find yourself in a forest.. |

"Sinister -- you are all and more. Splendid.
Of all of the Dawnings, all of the Eve lit nights by star have I awaited
you, and you are here." Says the man suited in a black garb of no culture
you have fore seen. Hands folded behind his back, he smiles. "I beg your
pardon?" You ask. Canopy of shrub as deep and hypnotic as the eyes of
the strange man urge wonder from where the light comes in such a dense
forest. "Light is darkness when you fear, and you wouldn't like it here;
either. Might I ask why you have called me into this Word?-- This World
in Time?" Your mind is empty and confused like the clearing in the odd
forest. The man is alone; empty somehow. "You look as if this is the first
time you laid eyes on me." "Well it is." You reply. "My!" Says the fellow.
"You need not be so cruel! If it is my feelings that you wanted to hurt
you have done it! I never said I were a writer although I would consider
I should become so." "What are you talking about!" "MY!" He says again
before crumbling to tears on the soft meadow grass. "Oh, excuse me no!"
Looking desperately for a linen to dry his eyes and finding none you pat
him lightly on the back. "The wall -- you don't understand--" "You Sinister
wicked soul. . . " he sobs. For a moment the tears cease; voice collected
as before. "Here is a Kleenex," he says pulling a feathery parchment from
nothing, "you may use this -- and don't wrinkle my tuxedo." Grabing the
light paper you back away in awe. "What?" Whining wildly again he continues,
"I said -- MY!" "Oh, of course -- this is a Kleenex?" You ask hugging
your shoulders as a wheeze whips through the shrubs. A boom knocks you
to the ground next to him. Thunder. But you noticed no flash. You approach
slowly to apply what is called 'Kleenex' to his eyes, and he turns sharply.
"Must I do everything myself." He says yanking the material from your
trembling fingers. Gathering memory you gain confidence. Chilled and shaking
your head you do not flinch from his eyes that look at yours again. Familiar
this time. "At this point sir", you say, "I'm beginning to think not.
I believe it is I who am doing everything." "Oh?" he inquires. "Exactly."
You return. At once the thicket is torn by a vivid blue arrow of lightning.
"You are sinister, Sinister--" he says eyes dry and wrought with a strange
force. "Oh?" You inquire. "Exactly." He returns. At once you realize with
no doubt whom stands before you. But before you react the both of you
are thrown from your feet as a second bolt shoots a hole through the mighty,
mighty branches. |

To stare at the lights beauty is but too brite
to see. i shant look back because if i do it will seal my fate. I can
feel the warmth if the light and as it dances upon my brow, the quest
seems so differet now. to try ad catch the light with my figertips i try,
but the light sifts through my hands and it is impossible to touch. "Oh
but wamth and love i feel from this" she said " my soul longs to capture
this beautifull light. It has the apperance of the full moon on a summers
night . the colors i've never seen before. yet the blue/gray cast "i know
i've seen somewhere before. She takes the small veil of crystal blue tears
that she once held so dear , and emptied it to fill her vial with this
magnificient light. As she tilts the bottle to the ground, and the tears
fell helplessly down to their fate " she hears the sound of a lullaby
. She listens as one by one the tears change their tune to the sound of
a siver harp. Suddely she notices where the tears left their mark in their
place was growing a blue rose that dripped black blood. it's face was
knelt toward the ground as was passion flower when she was ignored and
forsaken. She looked it it, and tried to pick it up to take it with her
on her journey but it's thorns were shar as razors and cut her fingers
badly. "ouch " she cried and although it's stunning beauty was to her
desire to have it she left it alone wandering "why such beauty yet such
pain?".......... |

"Future?" The man says pulling you from the

know there were such a thing -- I really did not. Beautiful you are. Are
you what is called future?" "Yes I suppose so. If what you have never
seen before is the future. You are so familiar, do you recall me?" "What
for?" he says "can't you read? Do you hate so much what I have written?--"
He hands you a pad which reads: stare not behind, instead a steely glare
to the future. . . . Mouth open, heart thumping you circle the strange
man. "Light is darkness when you fear, and you would't like it here --
why such beauty in such pain? Why look at steely Fore, and forgotton be

you do, what is happiness be true--" "Who is saying that!" You shout.
The man, now in white locks eyes with yours, terrified and confused like
you -- "Is it stalking, is it stalking -- or is it in my veins; it is
here, it is near it is looking to the fear, new adventure new shock lock;
new the open in the clear--" "QUIET!" The man yells covering his ears
then darting into the forest storm. You follow calling him, perhaps more
frightened than he-- |

A blue light flashes and you hear the sound
of thunder once again. You are standing in the forest and all is still
and quiet. You close your eyes and rub your acheing head. You take a breath
and proceed to walk through the forest and soon come upon a large temple
built into the side of a mountain. You read the stone tablets before the
door and decide this is where your task will end and this is where you
will find the sword of Karras. You enter the temple and walk for what seems
like hours when you finally come upon a pit with a blazing fire lit within
it.There amidst the fire hanging there in the air you see it a beautiful
yet simple silver sword.Easy enough you say and you reach for the sword. All
at once you are standing there in the forest and the figure in black is
there once again vexing you with his rattlings.Your head starts acheing
once again and you hear the figure laughing "You didn't really think you
could put me off did you?"Who aer you that you should forget me?Your head
stars spinning and you think your gonna passs out.You clear your thoughts
and stand tallYou are not gonna lose this...battle or is it you wish you
knew what was happening. You close youe eyes too gather your nerve but
when you open them you are standing in complete and total darkness...all
you hear is the dark figures laugh and the only thing you can think is
"Whats so damn funny anyway" |
By Jonz |
The laughing continues what seems for hours.
Is it meant to torcher me? I must find my way out. The incedious laughter
follows me as I inch myself along in the darkness. Who am I, what did
I think I could do? A soft breeze brushes my face and it startles me.
I follow it. On my knees now I call upon the Gods to favor me. Anxiously
I follow the fresh air so close now that I am shakeing. I reach out, my
hand comeing closer, to what I don't know. I just know I have to get out.
The laughter stops abruptly. Silence.... The formidable silence. My heart
races, I am reaching and shakeing and find an opening. I must get through
is all I can think. The darkness is starting to consume me and I want
to scream. One more push I hear myself saying. As I break through the
laughter starts again. But I am not afraid any more. I want to laugh with
them. Them? Why did I say them? I am falling, faster and faster and the
Incideous laughter fades..... |

I awaken to find myself outside the temple.
The door still standing open as I had left it. I look beside the door
at the tablets. Strange...I remember only two sets before now there are
three. I reach over and close the door and open it once more. The pages
turn and I find myself engrossed in its words. To get the sword I must
participate in a game? Is that why they were laughing at me? I turn the
pages once more and the instructions read: Wisdom and a pure heart is
all that need. Evil and fear do not feed. But love is the purest gift,
if you have not..It'll set you adrift! |
By Jonz |
I pondered those
words I had just read. I had love in my heart once. Where did it go? Will
I have to find it again or am I able to reach down deep in my soul and
retrieve those precious moments so long put aside. Will my heart remember,
will my soul? What kind of game was this going to be? It seems so simple
a task and yet there was fear. I gathered myself together and decided
to enter once more. This time I will be equipped with some knowledge of
what is going on inside. I opened the door and walked in. The entrance
was brightly lit this time and I could see that there were many doors.
Each seemed to be beckoning to me, each held a quest. Which shall I choose?
I opened the door farthest from me...... |

beneath you you feel the outline of a door. You search around until you
find the handle. You pull on it and it opens surpisingly easy. Ahead of
you lay stairs traversing down into the bowels of the earth. You take
a torch from the wall, light it and begin your journey down... |

your self once again facing a choice of which door. You decide to concentrate

light all around you.At first it is just a bright ball of light but as
you concentrate harder the light becomes so bright that you can feel the
pure goodness within it and you remember the love and warmth of a time
long past of a time you thought to be dead and gone. The light engulfs
your body and you reach out your arms to embrace the pure love the pure
light. As your arms circle the air about you,you feel somthing within your

"Very good," I hear a voice say. "You have
passed the test of love".Now lets begin the game. Which door do you choose
first? I looked at the doors, on each is a different symbol. I examine
the symbols knowing that each has its own meaning. I must remember my
teachings from the master. I calm myself, meditate briefly and choose
the door to my right. It's ornate carving captures my curiosity as I try
to decipher its meaning. I reach up to touch it and the door opens with
such a quickness that I am left with my hand in mid-air. The room is a
maze of entries and exits.I walk to the entrance and find instructions.
The next door you must find, through this maze you must wind, Find a riddle
attached to the door, solve its puzzle and we'll give you one more... |
By fairyraindancer |
You come across a door with bronze hinges and a brass knocker. You look around
to as if to see a paper with a riddle upon it when you notice the riddle
carved into the door.It reads This light comes from within and shines

that holds it in an evil one makes you frown and pure one makes you grin. You
think it over and decide upon your anwser and you say out loud a soul
a spirit.Very good you hear someone say.Now the door may you pass. You
push the door open and alas you are standing in the forest once again
and once again the robed figure stands there laughing at you.You decide
to put an end to this once and for all and you reach out to grab the dark
cloak hiding the figure before you. With a great heave and a tuo you pull
the cloak from thr being and what you see makes your knees weakand your
mouth drop open. For standing there before you is....is....you, but how
can that be?It looks just like you but different, darker somehow and as
you stare at it,yourself the other you begins smiling wickedly back at
you.You try to speak to it but alas no words will come and you fall to
your knees in disbelief...It walks over to where you stand and places
a hand on your shoulder,You shudder at the coldness of its,Your its touch
and then it starts....That hideous laughing |
By Jonz |
As he starts laughing, I remember the tablets
riddles. I stood to face this abination. I looked at him with steel in
my eyes and grinned,"I fear you not dark one.I know the powers I hold
and you cannot have them." He raised his sword to strike me down but I
stepped aside. I turned and when I did I brought my own sword up and around.
It connected with a cracking sound and took off his head. The figure crumpled
and disappeared. I was once more transported within the temples walls.
The door I had entered stood open, only this time, the face upon it smiled.
I had won the first part of the game. I chose another door. The one with
the raven upon it and entered within. It slammed shut immediatly. A light
radiated from the center of the room and I found myself drawn to it. As
I entered the circle of light there appeared before me a table of relics.
I examined them closely. They were the relics of the Ancient's. "Choose
wisely'" I heard them whisper. Before me lay a medicine bag, a ring and
a white rock. As I touched each of them I gained some knowledge of each.
I stood there, which do I choose?... |
By Natalia
Thompson |
I peered at both of the strange items. Which
shall I choose? The question still remained. What will happen when I take
the ring? Or the white gemstone? What of the medicine bag? Then I heard
a small, qiuet voice speak to me in my head... Or was it something else?
As it talked to me, I began to understand I shall do, and what I shall
choose. |
By Natalia
Thompson |
I finally understood. I had to chose the white
rock. It was a test, of faith, courage, and to prove I was not going to
chose the best looking thing, and think it was the best. I reached over,
slightly scared at what might happen when I took the rock. When my hand
came near it, the white rock , or gemstone, bagan to glow of a pale sky
blue. I flinched. Before I could take my hand back, and reconsider, I
grabbed it with all my power. A blinding white light filled the area I
had been in. Unfortunanty, I was knocked unconcious by the suden force
of teleport. When I awoke, I was laying down on a soft pallet in a gorgeous
room. M=Several garments lay beside me, one was of a purple-gold cooler,
and the other an emrald-green, with golden sleeves. I chose the green
one, after I had thouroly check to make sure nothing was wrong with it.
After I was thorougly clothed, I began to search for an answer to where
I was. I cast a spell, invisability on myself, glad to know I was replinished
all of my magic. I strolled around the palace, for a few minutes. Suddenly
I heard a quiet voice behind me, it was so close, I thought I could feel
the things breath on my neck. Hello traveler. It said with laughter in
it's voice, when I had turned around reaching for my sword in protection. He
laughed a hearty laugh before he continued. I have been searching for
ye for a long time Revel. I was surprised to know it knew my name, and
stared at him in amazment. Yes, I do know yer name. Don't be frightened
though Revel, I have revived you, fed you, and have clothed you. There
is no reason to be wary of me. I am the King of the High Elf people. I
have watched you along your travels. I think you are the perfect erson
for the Quest I have for ye. At my uncertain look, a hearty laugh, again,
escaped his throught. That is when I realyl looked at him, I mean really.
He was wearing a long gloden robe, gold must be popular here, with silver
arm peices that seemed to hang to the floor. He was about 1 foot taller
than me, with 2 amethist earings in the middle of his lobes. For some
reason, I bagan to feel comfortable with this tall, strange man. It was
as though a certain soft, kind, and loving energy probed around him. Come
Revel, he finnaly spoke again, lets go to the Feast I have perpared for
ye. It is a long Quest, but I know ye can do it. You will need yer strength
though, and a nice soft bed to sleep in. I have it all prepared for ye,
even a companion. My most loved warrior, Zandi. I was startled to hear
a female name, and to be called a warrior as well. We went to the feast,
that is where I met her, I ate raviosly, the past few days, I had gone
without food, and as the King had said, I needed my strength. I met her
after the feast, where we were introuced. She had long brown heair, wich
came to her hips, dark green eyes, and soft light lips. She wasn't a HIgh
Elf, that I was certain. She was a strong looking girl, and one not to
be messed with I realized. I decided to test her on her strengths. I challenge
you to a battle, I proclaimed. As ye wish Revel. Many people knew my name
it seemed. We faught for about 1 hour, equal in srength and strategy.
In the en though, she managed to overthrow me, although I dont know how.
When we were done, I peered at her, she was breathing lightly, as though
we had only been fighting for 5 minutes. As I squinted at ehr, I saw a
green/purple collor all around her. Does she have Magic?! I asked the
King in Question. Yes. She is well known for that, around the only feminine
warrior/sorcerer of our kind. Ye are worthy to acompany me on my journey,
although I see no reason for it. I said, trying to hide my shame..... |

"then why should i acompany you on your journey,
if you see no reason for it," Zandi replied, arching her eyebrow in a

The High King then asked us to join in in
the High Chamber of Laws. Once inside I gazed around to see that the room
was filled with a luminus white glowing light, yet soft enough for one
to see clearly that this was a chamberr of significant power. Zandi and
I stood in amazement as the High King Thoronz sat slowly upon a pale velvet
blue pedestal, perplexed as he looked up into the nothingness of the high
arched ceiling. The chamber became silent as he leaned forward with the
look of perplexed fear in his eyes. He spoke softly at first of the many
wonders of the planet if all were to come together as one and if man only
would believe once again in the beauty of all that is. Thoron then spoke
with more urgency of the quest we were about to begin if we decided to
join as one and dedicate our hearts to the full meaning of our mission
with out question. I felt deep into my heart of what I was about to do
not even knowing how I came upon this Kingdom of mystic and magic. My
body began to tingle with agentle warmth, somehow knowing that what I
was about to give my heart to was of such urgency that not even fear of
death would stop me from dedecating my life to the cause. I began to wonder
if my new found companion would be feeling the same thing when suddenly
a loud crash filled the air as an image of darkness surrounded by an invisible
light appeared from no where, screaching obsenities at the High King about
him being weak with his own fear to save what was left of goodness in
all mankind and that mankind would be his to rule. The image then dissappeared
as quickly as it appeared. Thoron then lowered his head and whispered,"we
are running out of time if he has found us here." |
By Sir
Drunkalot |
From where the image had once stood there
came a minicale laughter. A laughter that only belongs to those gone mad,
or worse yet, those gone sane! The voice then thundered from this voidful
casm between space and time. I am Yzarc Dog (which is Crazy God in our
parellel universe)and I have woke up on the wrong side of heaven this
morning. Mankind is an ambonation and a conard of what its purpose was
intended. Don't you see, I make you as an extention of me to |
By Sharameah |
The voice faded into a whisper and as the
last echos circled the chamber sourrounding the King, Zambi and Revel...
the words...fell into the silence... to allow you a last chance at redemption
before the circle ends forever. In the silence that followed the Elf King
rose to his feet, gesturing to both he lead them across the chamber to
where against the chamber wall, there hung a marvelous silken tapestry
of luminous shifting colors. Facing them, erect and regal, the King spoke..
'you need not accept this Quest' unless in your hearts you are commited
to make this journey as equal parts of a whole. Each of you brings precious
knowledge and memories which will aid you, but only if you are sworn to
protect and to preserve one to the other. Zambi's clear, blue catlike
eyes widen in understanding. I swear I will protect and preserve Revel
in all things and make the journey to achieve our Quest with a willing
heart and soul. Turning to Revel, the King regarded him with questioning
eyes. Revel was gazing at Zambi with recognition in his eyes, It is you...Chandra!
But your Annalina too! And yet, I feel certain you are someone else, someone
I know in the depths of my being How can this be so? Smiling Zambi Chandra-Annalina
reached across the space between them and spoke... I am all and nothing,
as you see me so I am. In the fullness of our journey all will be revealed...will
you Revel make the pledge? Will you undertake the last Quest to restore
mankind? |

You say without thinking "I swear to protect
and preserve Zambi in all things and make the journey to achieve our Quest
with a willing heart and soul." The two of you are bathed in a golden
glow of magical light and you feel yourself raising up off the floor drifitng
up towards the ceiling. You look down but can see nothing beyond the glow.
You turn and see Zambi with her head thrown back and eyes closed as if
she is meditating. You bow your head slightly closing your eyes and descide
to ride this expiriance out without fear of what will happen next. |

Then, quietly, almost silently, a voice from
the past burns a terrifying message into your brain. OHMYGOD, somebody
stole my monkey! |

You look down, you look up, you look all around..and
no sight of your monkey. With tears in your eyes you gallop upon your
dragon into the desert. |

...and upon that dragon you gallop, gallop,
gallop. then trot, then plod... endless hours into that desert of dreams,
a hefty, jeweled sword by your side. As each paw plods along the sandy
terrain you feel yourself growing weary.Throughout the day the off-white
sky and egg colored sand dueled for monotony's sake, but as dusk approached
you reeped the spoils, the sunset consumed the sky, red filling the horizon
as though blood flowed out from the heavens and across this surreal canvas
before you. You had never ventured through this realm before, but yet
as you are bathed in the crimson glow of this glorious miracle all fear
within you receeds. For if something this glorious can come from an oasis
of nothing, truly miracles must exist. Light from darkness, water from
sand and hope from an abyss of disapair. You dare raise your head in truimph,
for the first time in ages, succumbing to this savage new ambition. With
a passion inside, you grab your fine saber by the hilt, prod your faithful
dragon and errupt into a gallop, bellowing, "I have found a monkey on
this day indeed; that Iron Monkey within! And now I shall find my place
in destiny!" With that you roared off into the sweet embrace of night... |

But...but....I thought my monkey went to Los
Vegas? Is there egg-colored sand in Vegas? Maybe so. Maybe not. The fact
still remains, though, this is a very nice dragon that I have here. It
is a fine replacement for that monkey anyway. |

On a dark mournfull night i saw the moons
glow as i have never seen before. It's beam was pure and it cast its light
over the small town of ephaniy. All was quiet, except for the distant
cries of the owl that pearched himself atop the highest tree near the
old courtyard. The night was cold and bitter with a dusting of midnight
frost. It looked as if tiny fairies painted each leaf and tree with their
artwork. The steps to the old courtyard told of their age with each crack
and broken fragments of stone that the weather had worn away. All was
dark except for a small light that was kept on in the tower above for
the town clock that kept time for the resdents of ephinay |

Then I snapped back to what suddenly became
our reality. The reality that two must forget the pasts of all thier pasts
that they both experienced countless times together and to only be present
for the quest that they were to part take in. I looked into Zandi's eyes
knowing my commitment this time was not of my own inner darkness of what
was but to develop a commitment as one Magick to save what was mankinds
last chance. Last chance to bring back the magick of the Earth and to
heal her to her original state before the darkness enslaves her to only
be raped for her natural riches which she provides to heal. Zandi felt
his heart energy cross the room and caress her heart with a commitment
to face what evr dark force awaited them on thier quest. The king then
summened a couple High Elfs forward each carrying a chest. The chest was
laid at there feet and as they knelt to open each the where in astonishment
with what thier eyes looked upon. |

Next, thankfully, they all proceeded to spelling
and grammer class to learn, from the dark forces of evil, the right way
to spell words like summoned and their. The great Customer Service Goddess
shudders and smiles slightly thinking, "What great happiness it gives
me to be such a perfect speller and grammatically correct being of light." |

King |
The first chest I open seemed to contain nothing.
But with a closer look I realise it infact contained a sea of briliantly
green colored water. Zandi said, “This is no ordinary water, it is magic
water. Throw in your best weapon and it will become better, and you you
will find that you will also become better at using it.” The first thing
that came to my mind was my sword. I took it from my side and threw it
in. I saw it hit the water and the water swallowed it. There was a shadow
were my sword was thrown and soon a whirlpool was created. All the water
was being pulled to the swirling magic. Soon all the water had been pulled
to the center and there was a bright light. When my eyes adjusted to the
light I saw a sword laying there, at the now visable bottom of the chest.
This was not the sword I threw in... It was a new sword. The King said,"Your
sword like you has been reborn. It now is a vessel that contains the great
sea of magic." It was more beautiful than any other sword I have seen.
It was much bigger than the sword I had before, too big to carry at ones
side. So I put it on my back, bowed my head and thanked them for the gift.
I then turned to the next chest and wondered if the next gift would be
as great or greater than the first. |
By Faeriethorn |
The sword is becoming very heavy, too heavy
for this traveler's weary hands. He casts about for a place to rest this
sword, it is too precious to lay down anywhere except for a fitting resting
place. A stand of dew-drenched ferns glistens across the way, shielding
smooth grey stones from view. Tiny yellow flowers entwine the maidenhair
ferns and wink through the dense green foliage. An imperious, grand maple
reaches towards the stars and the lovely maidenhair ferns nestles right
at its feet. Surely, this place would be guarded by good and gentle spirits;
no one could dare harm or spirit away his sword whilst it rests here. |
By Rossypops |
As night fell over the land where he lay,an
eerie creeping mist began to creep eeriely across the land where he lay
as night fell. He slept so soundly that night, so soundly infact, that
he did not hear the gentle rustling of the maidenhair, as it brushed across
his mist moisened chest. |

with a start, I awoke, that is I regained
reality and realized the power of the gift of the second chest. Invisble,
yet all powerful, the gift of being where ever and whatever my mind imagined..
glancing towards Zambi I understood at once that she too had received
the gift of turning thoughts into reality. Even as I watched, she began
transforming, flowing from one form into another before my very eyes she
became a magic, fairylike being wreathed in an aura of magic. Reaching
out her hand, she grasped my hand in hers and spoke inside my mind, "We
are ready now, it is time to begin. Where shall we set our foot upon the
path?" In an instant, a vision of another place began to shimmer inside
my head and within seconds we were standing together at the base of a
huge, ancient oak. Reaching behind me I secured my magical sword, reassuring
myself that it was still there.. for now it had become weightless, no
longer a burden to carry. Where is this place? I asked Zambi, Tilting
her head slightly she appeared to listen and then nodded. "We stand at
a gateway and if we choose, may enter the land of Aforesight, where we
will be able to see beforehand the outcome of any action we may choose
to take or we may instead, elect to enter the land of Hindsight where
only after our actions are taken shall we fully see the consequences.
There are good and bad aspects to both choices and we may only choose
one..How say you? |
By Sherahmeah |
Must I decide? Alone? Surely you have a say..
Oh Yes. Zambi smiled.. I only repeat the words as they were spoken, but
I think we must both choose together.... Well, can it wait until after
lunch?? I am perishingly starving...It has been atleast a dozen interludes
and tudes since I was last offered anything substantial with which to
fortify myself! And besides, I need to practice the skill of being whatever,
whereever I can imagine, before we progress any further. This said, I
plunked myself down at the foot of the Oak and began to envision a picnic
lunch. Before Zambi could reply, I imagined her seated across the picnic
cloth from me holding a flute of dom perigon. Spread before her were all
her favorites... succulant shrimp,,smokey salmon slivers, cold chicken,
creamy cheeses, crisp crostini, scones surrounded by little pots of Devon
Cream and wild strawberry jam .."Oh my! Zambi giggled.. perhaps we do
tend to take ourselves too seriously and now that you've mentioned it
I am feeling a bit peckish too... I think we will both make a better decision
after lunch and perhaps... a very, very small catnap? For a second, Zambi
seemed to waiver as though melting into another form, the faintest glimmer
of whiskers appeared, then disappeared from her face. Really Zambi, we
both must practice this magic we now posess... It could be very unfortunate
to melt into another form at a crucial moment. Nodding, with something
that could have been described as a small purr, Zambi turned her attention
to the platter of seafood.. Yes, practice, but first lunch. |
By Jonz |
They both sat eating and reveling in their
own thoughts but careful not to imagine themselves in any other place.
"Zambi," I said, "I think we can master this magic, and I know the key."
"We can think of anything we wish and nothing will happen but once we
say to ourselves it is so, it will be so." They put it to the test. Zambi
wished for a cloak to keep her warm, nothing happened till she said the
words "it is so." The cloak appeared imediatly. They had finally found
the key to the magic they needed. They finished their meal, waved their
hand and said together, "it is so," and the picnic disappeared. They smiled
at each other and started their quest. He waved his hand over his sword
to make it appear lighter and said, "it is so," picked up his sword and
he and Zambi left in search of their new quest. |

in the receding lite of the day, with the sound
of the ocean crashing against the rocks, our hero turns to his companion
and dreams of their fate.As the myriadical oppurtunities present themselves
our heros realises the power that he posses, without understanding. His
companion looks at his eyes and realises what an awesome prescence she
is near to without wanting to she steps back, awed at the prospect of a
being so powerful a being that she,who has been alive since before the
dawn of man would never have hoped to have seen again. Our hero having
glimpsed his future and having had a brief touch of what he would become, regains
control of his mind and the power that had cursed through him from that
brief idea of his future, had subsided. He looked at the shape of his companion
and thought of how true his promise to protect her had been. She who now
looked at him with something akin to awe would be the force that completes
his understanding of his potential, and the realisations of his creators
dreams. He threw back his head and laughed. The sound rolling accross the
oceans and the universe and through time, making all through existance
people laugh,or cry.He turned to the tower and knowing that he would have
the power to over come any adversary he strode towards the glowing structure.Filled
with a light not seen by many mortal men..... |
By gnuworldman |
A moody, croaking growl booms forth from the
direction of the tower. The sound humbles the Hero; it shakes the ground,
his body and immediate need to hurry too much. No sound was ever so forboding.
Most thinking beings would cry and gasp. Anxiety, dread and deadly curiosity
fill the mind. He knows his next step is toward the sea of all the unknowns. |
By wile1 |
Quietly like a slinking Tiger he moves toward
the tower. His fate still unknown. His hands are clammy and his skin glistens
with sweat. Steadily onward he moves. His mind thinking only of the uncertainy
that awaits. Past the grasses and reeds he travels without making a sound,
without moving a blade of grass. The tower looms in front him. It seems
to call his name. |

the door is locked, how to get in, what evil
lie's beyond? |
By jonz |
Zambi and our hero look at each other and
tells the door to open, "it is so" they say and the door swings wide.
They creep inside not knowing what to expect. The room is huge and ornately
furnished. They are tempted to sit and rest but are afraid to do so. Something
tells them their magic won't work in here. Here they must use their wits
and strength. They find a corridor and start walking down to the furthest
door and quietly open it. There is no noise all around them is dead silence.
They walk to the bed where a being seems to sleep. Zambi turns the being
owver and immediatly jumps back. There lying on the bed is herself. She
stands there looking, trying to figure out what to do next... |
By Jack |
The figure was the rotting corpse of Gorobei.
It appeared as if he had taken his own life. "Fowl creature." As Zambie
and our hero walk further down the corridor, they pass many statues and
paintings when the corridor ends with two huge golden doors. They glance
at each other and nod and appear in the the room beyond. The lighting
in the room is very dim and there is a strange oder. A glowing figure
hovers slowly twords them. The words "Death is only the begining" are
sputtered from its mouth. |
By toad |
beyond the entrance, the stench only got stronger
as a breeze blew through the opening. The strange figure appearing in
the darkness of the doorway seemed to be beckoning our hero to enter further
into the room. The sound of something popping arose from underfoot with
each step. |
By sugarbaby |
Damn crunch berries that had been spilled
on the ground, "he sighs". As they get closer to the strange figure glowing
in the doorway, he could see the red glowing eyes of pure evil looking
straight at him now. What would be his next move to go on past or to go
the other way........He took his chance and went on past this evil that
watched him as he walked on by. The smell even got stronger as he walk
down the narrow path to the bright blueish light......Is this a dream
or is this really happening??????? |
By sugarbaby |
This was no dream! In the room with the bright
blueish light there sat angels on the backs of the unicorns to help our
hero out of the danger that he was now in, to take him to the place he
was looking for............... |

The ride so far has been quiet and uneventful,
along a path that seems to go on forever, with the darkness of an unknown
forest up ahead drawing ever closer. You glance upward, and see the triple
moons of Calleich hanging low in the sky. The smaller moon, Xixon, is
a dark red, in contrast to the cool silvery light of its sisters Thira
and Tamborr. You feel unsettled, somehow. The red moon reminds you of
blood. You try to shake this cold creeping feeling as you draw closer
to the woods. The trees are huge, reaching high up into the air with dark
and twisted branches. The canopy is so thick that not much sunlight filters
through, and pools of rapidly fading light are dotted here and there.
You need to make camp soon, you think as you stop at the edge of the forest.
A large boulder sits just to the right of the path. Strange black letters
that you don't understand are carved deeply into the flat side of the
rock. You give your unicorn a pat on the neck and slip off to investigate
the stone further. You touch the smooth gray stone, noting that it is
taller and much broader than you. It is worn and old, and you can only
imagine the acient secrets it holds...You flatten a palm against it and
lean closer to squint at the strange markings. What can they mean? |
By Nathan |
As the strange markings are starting to make
sense, the evil Emperor struck you and fell to the ground. Soon after
you awoke, there were two Libians standing there to help you up. After
they helped you up, you realized that there is only one way to defeat
your nemisis. To take the chance of risking your life to make her wish
come true, the wish of a heart. He the realized that he had a big journey
ahead of him. "Finding the Emperor will not an easy task" he said to the
Libians. they replied, "are you hungry?" |
By T

he was, and there appeared before him a bountiful
feast, being served by two beautiful, mostly-nude female creatures known
as angorans...their long pure white hair flowed down their backs...their
bodies were curvaceous and, where not covered with sheer, silky cloth,
powdered with short fine hairs not unlike the fur of a rabbit...they both
came to him, speaking to his mind with their own, urging him to partake
of their nourishment...but first he had to know...he reached out and,
ever so gently, placed one hand over the breast of each angoran...he moaned
softly and mind-spoke to them..."you are so soft"... |
By wile1 |
"And your eyes.... they seem so mysterious,
so beckoning, so..but I mustn't look into them. I should turn away, I
should run." The thoughts of confusion began to fill the heros head. His
mind began to pull in two directions at the same time, should he stay
should he go? Suddenly one of the angorans spoke...... |
By Karon
Biggs |
Do not be afarid, please sit down and pratake
of the bountiful feast that has been prepared for you. No harm will come
to you here. Our hero can not decide if he should sit down and eat, then
he heard his stomach growling, which reminded him, he had not had anything
to eat since two moons ago and he was hungry, the feast did look very
inviting. Just as he was ready to sit and eat he heard the voice of the
angel again warning him not to pratake of this feast.....it had been laced
with a potion made of wild mushrooms, snake vemon(not of posion snakes)
and the wild black rose that grows only in the swamps of the Ion tribe.
He did not heed the warning of the angel that helped him a moon ago, escape
the evil from the castle. He was so hungry, so he sat down to eat of the
feast. The angoran with the coal black eyes brought him a gold tray filled
with different foods, "here," she said with her mind in his, eat to your
hearts desire, until you are no longer hungry. He began to eat, he suddenly
started to feel very dizzy and sleepy.......Our hero is soon out like
the redish-purple star that fell from the sky. As he sleeps he dreams
of home and the woman that was to be his wife, two moons before he was
ordered to find the evil Emperor who had taked the princess and to bring
her back home safely. If he did not bring the princess home, he could
never return home or he would be thrown to the manogiods, they would tear
him apart and eat him alive. Not a pleasant way to die. When he awoke
his sword with the magic pendant was gone......What am I do do now without
my sword and the magic pendant????????? |
